Sara has led numerous space missions, including serving as Deputy Science Director of NASA’s TESS mission and leading the Starshade Rendezvous Mission to find a true Earth analog orbiting a Sun-like star. Her current research focuses on the search for signs of life beyond Earth and advancing civilian space science through private-public partnerships. Her groundbreaking contributions have earned her numerous accolades, including a MacArthur Fellowship, membership in the National Academy of Sciences, and the 2024 Kavli Prize in Astrophysics.
